Default loosen up antifarm code

k... topic says most of it ... i know this will hav like 1000 replys unsigned cuz of bots an such

the thing is... ive done everything in the game, no more quests to do (except final assault which is a pain to get party for since no-one does anything but 5 man orofarm there... another reason why not implement this

so... what is left to do after all is done
1. pvp (im not really interested in pvp... perhaps i should)
2. helping out guildmembers, i do this alot
3. make a new char... i jst happen to like my char
4. farm for xp and skills, this i do. i farm for xp then go cap something and then i create builds that use the skill, ,and test them against bosses monsters fow uw and the like
5. farm for more gear... another thing i do

i want a specific green i go kill the boss... only i dont get the drop. i kill it over and over again, no drop... for example i've now gained 5 levels killing razorfin, 2 for ironclaw over last week

the razorfin farm requires u to kill 3 outcasts, cultist milthuran,1-2 creeping carps + razorfin himself... so this to give idea how many times ive killed him so far, i myself have lost count

so, either id like to get the drop for killing it this many times or 1 good reason why it shouldnt drop, the "good" reason is the antifarm code

why do i have to do some lame mission over and over again to release tthe antifarm code jst to get the weapon (and for example again, ive run thu northern wall once every 20 razorfin kills or so)

and as for antifarm code, it could be replaced by something like it only drops x amount of times during 1 day or jst lower its droprate, so it doesnt pay to farm for them...
another thing is ... why not, doesnt this create kindof imbalance if all ppl cannot have acces to the same weapons(as anet emphasizes balance), u want it u kill it or buy it...

the very basic idea of pretty much every rpg ever created is
time + effort = reward
so far the time spent is 1 week
effort put into it is creating 2 builds for 2 bosses + numerous ones that dont work
reward = 7 skill points +some crap items worth about 2k total havent bothered to pick em up

Life for bots is easy enough the way it is...

ALSO you do not need 1000000k on this game, so you DO NOT need to grind for anything.

ALSO IF you want the 15k / FOW armors and uber weapons and stuff, you can get those pretty easy the way the game is now...

SO, the only ones that would benefit from this would be bots, and as I stated before, their life is already easy enough the way it is.

---------------

NOW that this is out of my chest....high end areas there are some: Sorrows / Urgoz / Deep / Tombs / UW / FOW... If these do not interest you and "you have done EVERYTHING" (that includes all the titles, all the greens, all the skills, all the map exploration, all the master rewards, all the challanges, all the armors, all the side-quests...) go and try PVP out.

IF that does not appeal to you then just go play another game and let it be.

Latter.

well i propably have activated that code as i want those weapons... i dont intend to sell them i intend to use them an btw ive got 1.5k atm most of my money goes to skills (305 skillpoints used atm if i remember correctly so this amounts to about 290 k?)

as for über weapons... i really wouldnt call solofarming easy, its one of the most challenging things u can do in gw... and as statted above.... not really easy since ive killed razorfin approx 100 times with no drop...

bosses are 8 levels above u and usually getting to where the boss is located requires stealth + cunning... to get it rid from its group u need patience to lure it... or skill to lure the boss to fight with another group or skills enough to kill a group... not easy

u want something there really is only a few ways to get it
farm for money to buy it
farm for the item
farm for collectible items that can be traded for it
ask a friend to farm it for u
if there was option to get it as a quest reward readily customized... and the quest would take about 1 week to complete... i think id be happy to do it since it would give me something else to do... as stated above... ive done everything there is to do (even the repeatables atleast once, most of them many times)

tho i did expect something like that... unsigned cuz of bots

The antifarm code exists for a reason. There's a thread about it over in Riverside that'll explain how to reset the code so you can farm some more.

If you are bored, make another character. You may like your current character. But who knows? You make like a new character more. Each class plays VERY differently.

Excessive farming drives prices up all around, thus making things harder for the non-farmer populace to acquire or, worse yet, forcing them to do boring farming to get good items. So far, anet has been very good on caring for the non-farmer community (ie. by making good items available easilyu from collectors in cantha, and now by addin gth eoption to salvage inscriptions). I hope they will remain on their righteous path to keeping the game fun and accessible. With the update to salvaging, the only (useful) thing I see will remain prohibitively expensive will be the sup vigors, but, o, well, I guess I can live without those 9 hp.

I don't believe you. I have recorded the kills (and drops) of every single boss I three-man, two-man, and solo farm. The average of all bosses is one drop every seven kills. Sunreach, Merki, and Wing are the only ones who have a lower drop rate out of the 22 different bosses I have soloed. Currently, Sunreach hasn't dropped for 22 kills, but I think it's because in the middle I activated this anti-farm code. Also, running through Northern Wall really isn't that much of a problem.

get some guildies to help you, they can't all be selfish and they should just give u the axe if it drops to them.... seeing has how u want it so badly,

but hell why not just pay 10-15k for the damn thing? i mean seriously 100 runs for a axe worth like 15k?

you must have made almost 10k for the drops
when i helped my friend get his razorfin it dropped in 5 runs and i go like 2 k from drops on a 4 man team.

oh and that monk npc heals you.

Botters will get rich by hours put in alone, and will most likely be the ones who know the most about avoiding antifarming code. Measures that are designed for bot farmers can cause much more frustrating for normal players. If you want to stop botters, focus on detection of third party programs via punkbuster or similar countermeasures.

Alternately, I would be open to other ideas of making the things players want more accessable to players via other channels, including more skins available from weaponsmiths, and collectors or crafters for weapon mods. That way, people could make suitable replicas of what they wanted for some acceptable amount of work without being completely at the mercy of some random drop code.

I don't believe green items should be rare, I think that if a boss has a green item, it should drop it every time, just as you would go out to cap an elite skill you wouldn't want to end up killing him and him just happen to not equip that elite on his skill bar before going out would you? I mean he's using the weapon it should drop every time it's slain so that PVE can get good weapons fairly easily and compete with PVP... I mean afterall what's the point... It's a game, you shouldn't be running around trying to find max weapons after a certain point come on. I don't walk around with a 9-20 raven staff anymore with +23 life and +2 armor (vs physical) do I? Seriously, come on...

out of boredom and reading the OP i have been trying to get all of the shing jea greens to drop. Why you ask? to see the drop rate and not have to work to freaking hard to test it. So far I have 6 of the 16. Hardest one so far is Ziinjus sanctuary, I have tried over a dozen times and no drop. tried exiting and trying again and nothing. then went and got deathkeeper on the first try.
I havent tried to get all of them yet so I dont know if the others are as tough to get.
